Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from any point in Serra de São Mamede Natural Park. Head towards N2, which will lead you out of the park. Follow the N2 south until you reach the A1 motorway. Merge onto the A1 towards Lisbon. After approximately 30 km, take exit 20 towards A23, heading towards Torres Novas. Continue on A23 for about 20 km. Take exit 11 towards Minde/Mira de Aire. Follow the signs for Mira de Aire, and in approximately 10 minutes you will arrive at Mira de Aire Cave located at Av. Dr. Luciano Justo Ramos 470, 2485-050 Mira de Aire. Parking is available on-site.

    If you prefer public transportation, your journey will start at the nearest train station in Portalegre. From Portalegre, take a train to the nearest station at Entroncamento. This train ride may take approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival at Entroncamento, you will need to transfer to a bus that goes to Mira de Aire.
