Getting There

  • Metro

    From Setúbal, walk to the Setúbal train station (Estação Ferroviária de Setúbal). Take the train towards Lisbon (Lisboa) and get off at the Pragal station. Once you arrive at Pragal, exit the station and walk to the Pragal Metro station. Take the Metro Line 1 (Blue Line) towards Odivelas. Get off at the Cais do Sodré station. From Cais do Sodré, transfer to the train towards Cascais and get off at the Almada station. Once you arrive at Almada, follow signs for the Centro Histórico, where you can ask locals for directions to Alameda do Castelo.

  • Bus

    From Setúbal city center, walk to the bus terminal (Terminal Rodoviário de Setúbal). Take the bus line 550 towards Almada. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Almada stop. Once you disembark, follow the signs towards the historical center. You will need to walk uphill towards Alameda do Castelo, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.

  • Ferry and Walk

    From Setúbal, walk to the ferry terminal (Terminal Marítimo de Setúbal). Take the ferry to Cacilhas. Upon arriving at Cacilhas, exit the ferry terminal and you will see the bus stop. Take bus 101 or 106 towards Almada. Get off at the stop for 'Centro Histórico'. From there, it's a short 10-15 minute walk uphill to Alameda do Castelo. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions.
