Walking
If you are in the center of Sintra, start at the Sintra train station. Exit the station and head towards the main road, Avenida Dr. Miguel Bombarda. Walk straight along this road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the Rua da Ferraria. Continue walking straight until you reach the entrance of the Parque da Liberdade. Enter the park and follow the path that leads uphill towards the Castelo de Sintra. After about 20-30 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the castle, where Cisterna is located.
Bus
From the Sintra train station, you can take the bus number 434, which is a tourist bus that goes directly to both the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. Make sure to get off at the stop labeled 'Castelo dos Mouros'. From there, it is a short walk to the entrance of the Castelo de Sintra, where you will find Cisterna.
Taxi or Rideshare
You can also opt for a taxi or rideshare service from anywhere in Sintra. Simply tell the driver you want to go to 'Castelo de Sintra'. The ride should take approximately 10 minutes from the center of Sintra, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the castle, follow the signs to Cisterna.
