From the center of Tomar, head towards the Praça da República. Once you reach the square, locate the bus stop named 'Tomar (Praça da República)'. Take the bus to Ourém. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. After arriving at Ourém, you will need to walk to the Castle of Ourém. Exit the bus and head northwest on Av. Dr. José Nunes. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Rua do Castelo, which leads directly to the castle entrance.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Tomar. Start from the city center and head towards Rua da Liberdade. Follow the signs for the N110 road towards Ourém. The cycling distance is about 10 km and will take around 30-40 minutes. Upon reaching Ourém, look for signs directing you to the Castle of Ourém, which is located on a hilltop. The climb is steep, so be prepared for an uphill ride.

To reach the Castle of Ourém using public transport, go to the main bus terminal in Tomar located at Av. Marquês de Tomar. Purchase a ticket for the bus heading to Ourém. Buses run regularly throughout the day. Once you arrive at Ourém, disembark at the main stop. From there, walk north towards the hill where the castle is located. Follow Rua do Castelo, which will lead you directly to the entrance of the castle.
