Walking
From the center of Viana do Castelo, head south towards Praça da República. Once you reach the square, continue straight to R. da Bandeira, and follow this road for about 500 meters. You will reach the main bus terminal. From there, catch a bus heading to Braga. The bus ride takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Braga bus station, exit and walk towards Avenida da Liberdade. Continue straight for about 700 meters until you reach R. Dom Diogo de Sousa. The Arco da Porta Nova will be on your left.

From Viana do Castelo train station, board a train heading to Braga. The train journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Braga train station, exit the station and head straight onto Avenida da Liberdade. Walk for about 10 minutes until you reach R. Dom Diogo de Sousa. The Arco da Porta Nova is located at number 127, which will be on your right side.
