    Starting from the central area of Vila Real, head towards the main square known as Praça do Município. From the square, take Rua da Misericórdia heading north. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua de Camões. Turn left onto Rua de Camões and walk until you reach the end of the street. At this point, you will see the beautiful gardens of Mateus Palace in the distance. Continue walking straight and follow the signs that will guide you to the entrance of the Historical Gardens of Mateus Palace. The entire walk should take about 30 to 40 minutes.
