Walking
If you are in the center of Vila Real, head towards the main square, Praça do Município. From there, you can see the Avenida Carvalho Araújo. Walk straight along this avenue for about 15 minutes, enjoying the local shops and cafes along the way. Continue until you reach the junction with Rua da Alegria. Turn left and follow Rua da Alegria until you reach the bus station, which is a common landmark. From the bus station, you can take a regional bus towards Lamego. Make sure to check the bus schedule beforehand. Once you arrive in Lamego, exit the bus and walk straight along Avenida 1 de Maio. After approximately 10 minutes, take a right onto Rua da Sé, which will lead you directly to Largo da Sé, where the Lamego Cathedral is located.
Public Transport
Start at Praça do Município in Vila Real. Look for the nearest bus stop and take a regional bus that goes to Lamego. Buses are available throughout the day, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Lamego bus station, exit and head straight along Avenida 1 de Maio. After a 10-minute walk, turn right onto Rua da Sé. Continue walking straight until you reach Largo da Sé, where the Lamego Cathedral is located. Be sure to check the bus schedules for return trips to Vila Real.
