From Vilamoura, head east on the N125 road. Follow the signs towards Faro. After approximately 20 km, take the exit for Faro. Continue on the N2, which will lead you directly into Faro city. Look for signs directing you towards the city center and Praça do Afonso III. Upon entering Faro, keep an eye out for parking signs as there are several parking lots near the city center. Once parked, walk towards Praça do Afonso III, where Cidade Velha is located.
Public Transportation
To reach Cidade Velha from Vilamoura via public transport, first head to the Vilamoura Bus Station. Take the bus that goes towards Faro; the bus number is typically 51 or 56. The journey will take around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Faro Bus Station, exit and walk towards the city center. Follow the signs for Praça do Afonso III, which is a short 10-minute walk from the bus station. You will find Cidade Velha in the square.
