From the El Yunque National Forest Visitor Center, head west on PR-191. Continue straight for approximately 7 miles until you reach the junction with PR-3. Turn left onto PR-3 and follow the road towards San Juan. After about 20 minutes, you will enter San Juan. As you approach the city, look for signs directing you to Viejo San Juan. Once in Viejo San Juan, find the intersection near the Plaza de Armas and follow the signs to Garita de La Fortaleza, which will be on your left. The exact address is FV7J+M52, San Juan, 00901.

From El Yunque National Forest, take a taxi or rideshare service to the nearest bus station that services routes to San Juan. The closest bus terminal is in Fajardo, where you can catch a 'Guagua' (public bus) to San Juan. Once you arrive in San Juan, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Garita de La Fortaleza located in Viejo San Juan. Make sure to ask the bus driver for the stop closest to Viejo San Juan for the best drop-off point.
