Getting There

Walking
From the center of Luquillo, start at the Luquillo Beach area. Walk east towards PR-3 highway. Turn right onto PR-3 and walk along the sidewalk. You will pass by various shops and restaurants. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Road 191. At this intersection, you will see signs for El Yunque National Forest. Cross the road carefully and head towards the entrance of El Yunque. Follow the signs towards the 'La Charca de Cheo' trailhead. The entrance to the trail will be on your left after approximately a 15-minute walk. Follow the trail, which will lead you through beautiful natural scenery until you reach Rio La charca de cheo.

Public Transportation
From the center of Luquillo, head to the main bus stop located near the Luquillo Plaza. Take a public bus (carro público) heading to Río Grande. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for 'El Yunque'. Once you arrive, walk towards Road 191 and follow the directions to the trailhead for 'La Charca de Cheo'. The walk from the bus stop to the trailhead will take about 15 minutes.
