Getting there

Walking

If you are in the center of Arecibo, start by heading towards Plaza de Arecibo, a well-known central point. From the Plaza, walk towards Calle San Luis and continue straight until you reach the intersection with PR-2. Cross PR-2 carefully and continue on Calle José de Diego. After about 10 minutes, you will see signs leading you to PR-466. Follow PR-466 for approximately 20 minutes on foot, and you will reach Montones Beach. Keep an eye out for local shops and eateries along the way to grab refreshments!

Public Transportation (Bus)

From the central bus terminal in Arecibo, take the bus heading towards the coastal areas. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach a stop near PR-466, as some buses may not stop directly at Montones Beach. After getting off, walk north along PR-466 for about 15 minutes. You should see signs leading to Montones Beach. Make sure to check the bus schedule beforehand to ensure a timely return!

Bicycle Rental

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Arecibo. Start your ride from the rental shop and head towards PR-2, following the signs towards the coast. Once you reach PR-466, turn right and continue to ride for approximately 30 minutes. The ride offers beautiful coastal views, and soon you will arrive at Montones Beach. Make sure to wear a helmet and keep hydrated!
