If you are traveling by car from the West Region, take Route 2 (PR-2) east towards San Juan. Follow the signs to San Juan and merge onto PR-26 (Expreso de Diego) towards San Juan. Continue on PR-26 until you reach the exit for PR-1 (Paseo de la Calle San Juan). Follow PR-1, which will take you into the heart of San Juan. Once you are in the San Juan area, look for signs pointing to 'Old San Juan' and 'La Fortaleza'. You will need to navigate through the streets of Old San Juan; La Fortaleza is located at 63 C. de la Fortaleza, visible from the main roads. Parking may be limited, and you might need to use public parking lots nearby, which may incur a fee.

Public Transportation - Bus
You can take public buses (called 'Guaguas') from the West Region to San Juan. Look for the bus terminal in your area, and take a bus that heads towards San Juan, such as the Guagua from Mayagüez or Aguadilla. Once you arrive at the San Juan bus terminal, you can take the public trolley or a taxi to Old San Juan. If you opt for the trolley, it is free and will take you through different parts of Old San Juan. Get off at the stop closest to La Fortaleza and walk to 63 C. de la Fortaleza.
