If you're driving, start from the main entrance of El Yunque National Forest, which is located on Route 191. Follow Route 191 until you reach the intersection with Route 186. Turn right onto Route 186. Continue on PR-186 for about 5 miles until you see signs for Cascada Río Espíritu Santo. There is a small parking area near the entrance to the trailhead where you can park your car. Be sure to arrive early, as parking fills up quickly.

Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, take a bus from San Juan to Río Grande. You can catch the bus at various locations in San Juan. Once you reach Río Grande, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach PR-186, as public buses do not run directly to the waterfall. Inform the driver to drop you off near the trailhead for Cascada Río Espíritu Santo. From there, you may need to walk for about 10-15 minutes to reach the waterfall, following the marked trails.

Once you arrive at the parking area or drop-off point on PR-186, you'll find a marked trailhead for Cascada Río Espíritu Santo. The hike to the waterfall is approximately 1.5 miles along a well-maintained trail. Be prepared for some elevation changes along the path. As you hike, enjoy the lush vegetation and the sounds of nature. The trail can be slippery, especially after rain, so wear appropriate footwear and stay hydrated.
