If you are driving from the main visitor center in El Yunque National Forest, take PR-191 south toward Luquillo. Continue on PR-191 for approximately 9 miles (14.5 kilometers) until you reach the intersection with PR-3. Turn left onto PR-3 and drive for about 8 miles (12.9 kilometers). Then, turn right onto PR-63, which will take you towards Humacao. Continue for about 12 miles (19.3 kilometers) until you reach the town of Humacao. Follow the signs to 5 Academy Drive, where Pterocarpus Forest is located. Parking is available on-site.

To reach Pterocarpus Forest via public transportation, you can take a bus from San Juan to Humacao. Look for the 'Caribbean Bus' service that operates routes from San Juan to various towns including Humacao.
