Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Castle Hill Lighthouse, start from the center of Block Island. Head southeast on Old Town Road towards the intersection with Water Street. Turn left onto Water Street and continue until it merges into Corn Neck Road. Follow Corn Neck Road which will take you past scenic beaches. After approximately 3 miles, turn left onto Castle Hill Road. Continue on Castle Hill Road until you reach the lighthouse at the end of the road. Parking is available near the lighthouse, but be sure to check for any parking fees or restrictions.

• Public Transportation (Taxi or Shuttle)

  If you prefer not to drive, you can take a taxi or shuttle service from your accommodation in Block Island. Several local taxi companies operate on the island and can take you directly to Castle Hill Lighthouse. Simply call ahead and arrange for a pick-up. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your starting location. Expect to pay around $15-$25 for a one-way trip, depending on distance.

• Bicycle

  For a more active option, consider renting a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Block Island. Once you have your bike, head southeast from the center of the island towards Old Town Road. From there, follow the same route as you would by car, taking Corn Neck Road and then turning onto Castle Hill Road. This route is approximately 3 miles and offers beautiful views along the way. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local biking rules.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby and enjoy walking, you can also reach Castle Hill Lighthouse on foot. Starting from the town center, head towards Old Town Road and follow the directions as if you were driving. It's about a 1.5-hour walk (approximately 3 miles) to the lighthouse. This path is scenic, but be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and stay hydrated.
