Getting There

• Car

  From Burlingame State Park, exit the park and turn left onto Poppasquash Rd. Follow Poppasquash Rd until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 South and continue for approximately 8 miles. Take the exit towards Narragansett/Route 108 and merge onto Route 108. Continue for about 2 miles, then turn right onto Strathmore St. The South County Museum will be on your right at 115 Strathmore St, Narragansett, RI 02882. There is typically free parking available at the museum.

• Public Transportation

  To reach South County Museum via public transportation, you will first need to take a bus from the closest bus stop within Burlingame State Park. The RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority) bus service is available. You can take Route 66 (South County) towards Wakefield. Get off at the stop near Route 1 and Route 108 intersection. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to reach the museum. Head south on Route 108 and take a right onto Strathmore St. The museum is located at 115 Strathmore St, Narragansett, RI 02882. Be sure to check the RIPTA schedule for bus times and fare, which is typically around $2.00 per ride.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, exit Burlingame State Park and head towards Poppasquash Rd. Follow the same route as the car guidance. Biking on Route 1 can be challenging, so take caution and use bike lanes where available. Once you reach Route 108, continue until you turn right onto Strathmore St. The bike ride is approximately 10 miles and should take about an hour, depending on your cycling speed. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local biking laws.
