Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Jamestown, Rhode Island. From the center of Jamestown, take North Main Road (RI-138) and continue until you reach Fort Wetherill Road. Turn left onto Fort Wetherill Road, and follow it for about 1 mile. You will see Clingstone, a historic house on a rocky outcropping in Narragansett Bay, on your right. There is no specific parking lot, so you may need to find a suitable place to park along the road.
Public Transportation
To reach Clingstone via public transportation, take a bus to Jamestown from Providence or Newport. The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) operates several routes that can get you to Jamestown. Once you arrive in Jamestown, you will need to walk or take a taxi to Fort Wetherill Road. Walking from the bus stop to Clingstone is about a 20-minute walk. Follow North Main Road until you reach Fort Wetherill Road, then turn left and continue until you see Clingstone on your right.
Boat
For a unique experience, consider taking a boat tour around Narragansett Bay that includes a stop near Clingstone. Various companies offer boat tours that can give you a scenic view of Clingstone from the water. Be sure to check their schedules and pricing in advance, as costs may vary by season and tour length. Keep in mind that landing directly at Clingstone may not be allowed, so the view from the boat will be your best option.
