From downtown Newport, head southeast on Thames St toward Memorial Blvd. Continue straight onto Memorial Blvd, which becomes Wellington Ave. King Park will be on your left. There is free street parking available nearby, but be mindful of any posted signs regarding parking restrictions.
Public Transportation
To reach King Park via public transportation, take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus number 60 from Newport's downtown area. Board the bus at the nearest stop on Thames St and stay on until you reach the stop at Wellington Ave and 1st St. From there, walk about 5 minutes down Wellington Ave toward the ocean, and you'll find King Park on your left at 125 Wellington Ave. The bus fare is approximately $2, and you can pay with cash or use a RIPTA bus pass.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of King Park, you can easily walk to the park. From the Newport Harbor area, head south on Thames St. Continue straight until Thames St merges into Memorial Blvd. Stay on Memorial Blvd until you reach Wellington Ave. Turn left onto Wellington Ave, and after a short walk, King Park will be on your left at 125 Wellington Ave. This is a pleasant walk with beautiful views of the waterfront.
Bicycling
