If you're driving, start on US-1 S from anywhere in Newport County. Follow US-1 S for approximately 11 miles until you reach I-95 N. Merge onto I-95 N and continue for about 20 miles. Take exit 22C toward Downtown Providence and merge onto Memorial Blvd. Continue straight onto N Main St. After about half a mile, the RISD Museum will be on your left at 20 N Main St, Providence, RI.
Public Transportation
To reach the RISD Museum via public transportation, start by taking the RIPTA bus route 60 from Newport. The bus will take you directly to the Kennedy Plaza in Providence. From Kennedy Plaza, transfer to the route 1 bus towards Pawtucket and get off at the stop for N Main St. Walk north on N Main St for approximately 10 minutes, and you will arrive at the RISD Museum located at 20 N Main St, Providence, RI.
