Bus
From Pawtucket, head to the nearest bus stop and take the RIPTA Route 60 bus towards Jamestown. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the next departure. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes until you reach the stop for RI-138 in Jamestown. Once you get off, walk towards the water, and you will find the Claiborne Pell/Newport Bridge. It’s a short 5-minute walk.
Bike
If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Pawtucket. Head south on Main Street, then turn right onto East Avenue. Follow East Avenue until you reach the intersection with RI-138. Take a left onto RI-138 and continue straight until you arrive at the Claiborne Pell/Newport Bridge. The bike ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, you can start from the center of Pawtucket. Head south on Main Street, then turn left onto East Avenue. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with RI-138. From there, follow RI-138 westward for about 2.5 miles. It will take approximately 50-60 minutes to walk to the Claiborne Pell/Newport Bridge.
