    If you are starting from downtown Providence, take I-95 S from Washington St. Merge onto I-195 E toward East Bay. Continue on I-195 E for about 7 miles, then take exit 2A to merge onto RI-138 E toward Jamestown/Newport. Follow RI-138 E for approximately 10 miles until you reach the Jamestown area. Once in Jamestown, continue on North Road, which will lead you to the Dutch Island Lighthouse area. Note that you cannot drive directly to the lighthouse, as it is located on Dutch Island. However, you will have a good view of it from the Jamestown shoreline. There is no parking fee in the area.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Dutch Island Lighthouse using public transportation, start by taking the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus route 60 from Providence to Jamestown. The bus will take you to the Jamestown Ferry Terminal. From there, you can take a taxi or rideshare to get closer to the shoreline near the lighthouse.
