Public Bus
From downtown Providence, walk to the nearest bus stop on Washington Street. Take the RIPTA Bus #60 towards Newport. This bus will take you directly to Newport. Once you arrive at the Newport Bus Terminal, you can transfer to the local bus #67 towards Fort Adams State Park. The bus will drop you off at the park entrance, which is a short walk to the main attractions within Fort Adams.
Train and Bus
Take the MBTA Commuter Rail from Providence Station to South Station in Boston. From there, catch the Amtrak bus service to Newport. Once you arrive in Newport, follow the directions for the local bus #67 towards Fort Adams State Park, which will take you directly to the park.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Providence. Head south on South Main Street until you reach the East Bay Bike Path. Follow the bike path which takes you through scenic views along the waterfront. Continue on the bike path until you reach the Newport area, and follow the signs towards Fort Adams State Park. The park has bike racks available for parking.
Rideshare or Taxi
You can use rideshare services like Uber or Lyft. Simply open the app, enter 'Fort Adams State Park' as your destination, and confirm your ride. The drivers will pick you up from your location in Providence and take you directly to the park. This is a convenient option if you have luggage or prefer not to navigate public transport.
