Bus
From downtown Providence, walk to the Providence Transit Center located at 1 Kennedy Plaza. Catch the RIPTA bus #67 heading towards Newport. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Disembark at the Newport Transportation Center. From there, transfer to bus #60, which will take you towards Harrison Ave. Get off at the stop closest to Harrison Ave, and walk towards Hammersmith Farm, which will be a short 10-minute walk.
Train and Walk
Take the Amtrak or MBTA train from Providence to the Newport station. Once you arrive at the Newport station, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to Hammersmith Farm. Head south on America’s Cup Avenue, then turn left onto Thames Street. Continue along Thames Street until you reach Harrison Ave. Follow Harrison Ave until you find Hammersmith Farm.
Bicycle
If you're up for a bike ride, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in downtown Providence. Head east on the East Bay Bike Path. This scenic route will take you all the way to Newport. Once you arrive in Newport, navigate towards Harrison Ave using local streets, which will be about a 10-minute ride from the main road.
Walking
If you’re already in Newport, you can walk to Hammersmith Farm from the downtown area. Start at the Newport Harbor and walk along the waterfront, taking in the views. Head towards Narragansett Avenue, then turn onto Harrison Ave. Hammersmith Farm will be located along this street.
