Walking
If you are starting from the Rhode Island State House, exit the building and head south on Smith Street. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Broad Street. Turn left onto Broad Street and walk for another 0.3 miles. You will soon see the entrance to Kennedy Plaza on your right. The Federal Building is located at Kennedy Plaza, and you will see it directly ahead as you enter the plaza.

From the Providence Place Mall, exit the mall and head towards the west entrance. Walk down Francis Street towards the intersection with Washington Street. Once you reach Washington Street, turn left and continue walking for about 0.3 miles. At the intersection with Kennedy Plaza, turn right, and the Federal Building will be straight ahead in the plaza.
