If you are in downtown Providence, start at the intersection of Kennedy Plaza and Dorrance Street. Head east on Dorrance Street until you reach the traffic light at the intersection with Westminster Street. Turn left onto Westminster Street and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Empire Street. Turn right onto Empire Street, which will become North Main Street. Follow North Main Street until you reach the intersection with Waterman Street. Turn left onto Waterman Street and continue straight for about 0.5 miles. You will pass Brown University on your left. Continue straight until you reach Blackstone Boulevard. Turn right onto Blackstone Boulevard, and Swan Point Cemetery will be on your left at 585 Blackstone Blvd. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles total and should take around 30 minutes.
Public Transit - Bus
From Kennedy Plaza, take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) Bus #1 (Federal Hill) or #3 (East Side) towards Federal Hill. Get off at the stop on Waterman Street just before the intersection with Blackstone Boulevard. From there, walk north on Blackstone Boulevard for a short distance. Swan Point Cemetery will be on your right at 585 Blackstone Blvd. The total travel time is about 25-30 minutes, including the bus ride and walking.
Bike
If you have access to a bike, you can start from downtown Providence. Head east on Dorrance Street, then turn left onto Westminster Street. Follow Westminster to North Main Street, which you will take north. Continue straight on North Main until you reach Waterman Street, then turn left. After about 0.5 miles, turn right onto Blackstone Boulevard. Swan Point Cemetery will be on your left. The bike ride is approximately 1.5 miles and should take around 10-15 minutes.
