From downtown Providence, walk to the Kennedy Plaza bus station. Look for the RIPTA bus #60, which will take you directly to Newport. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Newport Gateway Center, walk towards America’s Cup Avenue, then take a right onto Marlborough Street. Continue straight, then turn left onto Bellevue Avenue. The Redwood Library and Athenaeum will be on your left at 50 Bellevue Ave.

From Providence, head to the Amtrak station at 100 Gaspee Street. Take a Southbound train towards New Haven. Get off at the Kingston station. From Kingston, you can catch the RIPTA bus #68 towards Newport. Once you arrive at the Newport Gateway Center, walk to America’s Cup Avenue, take a right onto Marlborough Street and then a left onto Bellevue Avenue. The Redwood Library and Athenaeum will be at 50 Bellevue Ave on your left.
