    From downtown Westerly, head east on High Street towards the intersection with Canal Street. Turn left onto Canal Street and follow it until you reach the intersection with Route 1 (Post Road). Use the crosswalk to safely cross Route 1. Continue straight onto Old Post Road (the road will curve slightly). Follow Old Post Road for approximately 3 miles. You'll see signs for Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge as you approach the intersection with Ninigret Park Road. Turn left onto Ninigret Park Road, which will lead you to the refuge entrance.

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    From downtown Westerly, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. Take the RIPTA Bus #66 (or relevant service) towards URI. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop for Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge. Once you disembark, follow the signs to the refuge entrance, which is a short walk from the bus stop.

    If you're feeling adventurous and are up for a longer walk, start at Wilcox Park in downtown Westerly. Head south on Broad Street, then turn left onto Canal Street. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Route 1 (Post Road). Cross Route 1 carefully, then turn right onto Old Post Road. Follow Old Post Road for about 3 miles. As you approach Ninigret Park Road, watch for signs indicating the refuge entrance on your left.
