If you're driving from Târgoviște, head northwest on DN72 towards Moroeni. Continue on DN72 for about 40 kilometers until you reach the town of Moroeni. From there, take DJ713 towards the village of Mioarele. As you enter Mioarele, look for signs directing you to Dealul Mățău. The road will lead you directly to the base of the hill, where you can find parking available.

To reach Dealul Mățău using public transportation, start from Târgoviște's main bus station. Look for a bus heading to Moroeni. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Moroeni, you can take a local taxi or ride-sharing service directly to Mioarele. Be sure to confirm with the driver that they know the location of Dealul Mățău, as it is a popular destination.

Once you arrive in Mioarele either by car or public transport, if you wish to walk, you can start at the center of the village. Follow the main road that leads you towards the outskirts of the village. The path will lead you to the foothills of Dealul Mățău. It is a scenic walk, but be prepared for a gradual incline as you approach the hill. This walk may take about 30 minutes from the village center.
