• Car

  If you are travelling by car, the most convenient route to Fereastra Mică a Sâmbetei starts from the town of Făgăraș. Drive on DN1 towards the village of Sâmbăta de Sus. After approximately 30 km, you will reach the village. Follow the signs to the Sâmbăta Monastery, which is a well-known landmark in the area. Once at the monastery, you will find a parking area where you can leave your car. From the parking area, you need to follow the marked hiking trail leading toward Fereastra Mică a Sâmbetei. The hike is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace, and is considered moderate in difficulty.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, take a train or bus to Făgăraș. From Făgăraș, you can catch a local bus heading to Sâmbăta de Sus. The bus ride may take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Sâmbăta de Sus, you will need to either walk to the Sâmbăta Monastery (approximately 15-20 minutes) or take a taxi if available. At the monastery, you can find parking and follow the hiking trail to Fereastra Mică a Sâmbetei. Be sure to check bus schedules ahead of time, as they may vary, especially on weekends.

  Once you reach the Sâmbăta Monastery parking area, begin your hike on the marked trail. The trail is well signposted, and you will be heading toward the Făgăraș Mountains. The hike will take you through various terrains, and you'll encounter some steep sections. Keep an eye out for trail markers to help guide you along the way.
