Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Făgăraș from your current location in Moldavia. Use the main roads such as DN1 or DN73, depending on your starting point. Follow the signs to Făgăraș. Once you reach the city, navigate to Strada Mihai Viteazul 1. The fortress will be clearly visible; there is parking available nearby. Be prepared for possible parking fees, which can range from 5 to 10 RON.

• Bus

  To reach Cetatea Făgărașului via public transportation, find a bus station in your area that services routes to Făgăraș. Buses from larger cities like Brașov or Sibiu frequently travel to Făgăraș. The bus fare is approximately 15-30 RON depending on the distance. Once you arrive at the Făgăraș bus station, it is about a 10-minute walk to the fortress. Head northwest on Strada 1 Decembrie 1918, take a left onto Strada Mihai Viteazul, and you will find the fortress.

• Train

  If you prefer traveling by train, check the schedule for trains heading to Făgăraș from your location. Train tickets can range from 20-40 RON. Upon arrival at Făgăraș train station, you can either walk (about 20 minutes) or take a taxi to the fortress. For walking, exit the train station, head southwest on Strada 1 Decembrie 1918, then turn left onto Strada Mihai Viteazul.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from your location to Cetatea Făgărașului. Ensure to agree on the fare beforehand. Taxi fares generally start at around 1.5 RON per kilometer, so the total cost will depend on your distance from Făgăraș.
