Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the capital city, Chișinău. Head southwest on the M1 highway towards the village of Codri, which is located approximately 20 kilometers away. Follow the signs towards the Codri Forest, and keep an eye out for local landmarks such as the wine cellars of Cricova. The drive should take about 30 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Codri, you can park your car in designated areas near the forest entrance.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, you can take a minibus (called a 'rutiere') from Chișinău to Cricova. Minibuses leave frequently from the Central Bus Station (Autogara Centru). The fare is usually around 15-20 MDL. Once you arrive in Cricova, you can take a taxi or walk (approximately 5 km) to the Codri Forest. Alternatively, inquire locally for any available shuttle services that may take you directly to Codri.
Taxi
If you prefer a direct route, you can also opt for a taxi from Chișinău to Codri. This option is more expensive, costing around 200-300 MDL, but offers convenience and comfort. Ensure you agree on the fare with the driver before starting your journey. The trip will take approximately 30 minutes.
Use Codri as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
