Getting there

Car

If you are driving from Bucharest, take the A1 motorway towards Pitești. After approximately 100 km, take the exit towards DN73C in the direction of Câmpulung. Follow DN73C for about 30 km until you reach the town of Câmpulung. From Câmpulung, take DN73 towards Brașov for about 20 km until you reach the village of Comăna. Look for signs directing you to Cetățuia Comăna, which is located a short distance outside the village. There is no entrance fee to visit the site.

Public Transportation

To reach Cetățuia Comăna by public transport from Bucharest, take a train from Bucharest Nord station to Câmpulung. The journey takes about 2-2.5 hours, and trains run frequently throughout the day. Once you arrive in Câmpulung, you can take a local bus or a taxi to Comăna. The bus will take approximately 30 minutes, and you should ask the driver to drop you off near Cetățuia Comăna. It is advisable to check the bus schedule in advance as frequencies may vary. Train tickets cost around 30-50 RON, while the bus fare is approximately 10 RON.
