To reach Sphinx by car, start from Bucharest. Take the A1 motorway towards Pitești. After approximately 80 km, take the exit toward DN7/E81. Continue on DN7 for about 35 km until you reach Râmnicu Vâlcea. From Râmnicu Vâlcea, follow signs for DN67C towards Transalpina and then DN67. Drive for about 55 km until you see signs for Sphinx. The exact coordinates are 45.4083125, 25.4703125. There are parking facilities near the site. Ensure to check for parking fees, which can vary.

Public Transportation

If you prefer public transportation, take a train from Bucharest to Râmnicu Vâlcea. Trains depart regularly from Gara de Nord. The journey takes approximately 2 to 3 hours depending on the service. Once in Râmnicu Vâlcea, you can catch a bus towards the Transalpina area. Make sure to check the local bus schedules, as services may vary. Disembark at the closest stop to Sphinx and walk the remaining distance. It is advisable to confirm the bus stop locations as they can change.
