Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start from the main entrance of Buila-Vanturarita National Park and head towards Horezu. Take DN67C (the scenic Transalpina road) south towards Horezu. After approximately 20 minutes, you will reach the town of Horezu. Once in Horezu, follow the signs to Strada 1 Decembrie 1918. The Monumentul Independentei is located at Strada 1 Decembrie 1918 2, just off the main road. There is no parking fee, but parking may be limited near the monument.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from the nearest town, Râmnicu Vâlcea, to Horezu. Buses leave regularly from the Râmnicu Vâlcea bus station for Horezu, and the journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Horezu, you can either walk or take a taxi to Strada 1 Decembrie 1918. The monument is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus station. Taxis are available at the bus station and typically cost around 10 RON to reach the monument.

• Walking

  If you are already in Horezu, you can reach the Monumentul Independentei on foot. From the central square (Piața Horezu), head east along Strada 1 Decembrie 1918. The monument is about a 10-minute walk from the square. It is located at number 2 on this street, which is well-signposted.
