Walking
Start at the Butare town center, near the National Museum of Rwanda. From the museum, head south on Avenue de la Révolution. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with Avenue de la Paix. Turn left onto Avenue de la Paix and walk for another 500 meters. You will see signs for Rwamamba wetland indicating a right turn. Follow the path leading towards the wetland, which should be approximately a 15-minute walk from this point.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle at one of the local shops in Butare. Begin your journey from the center of Butare and head south on Avenue de la Révolution. After around 1 km, turn left onto Avenue de la Paix. Continue on this road for about 500 meters until you see signs directing you to Rwamamba wetland. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes depending on your pace.
Public Transport (Moto-taxi)
Find a moto-taxi station in Butare, which is common near the town center. Inform the driver that you want to go to Rwamamba wetland. The driver will take you via Avenue de la Révolution and Avenue de la Paix, which will lead you directly to the wetland. The ride should take approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic.
