    From Cyangugu, start by heading northeast on the main road towards Butare. After approximately 25 km, you will reach the intersection with the Nyanza road. Take a left turn onto the Nyanza road and continue for about 40 km until you reach the town of Nyanza. In Nyanza, take the road leading to the east towards the Akagera National Park. Follow the signs to Akagera National Park, which is located about 60 km from Nyanza. The park entrance is located at 4PC3+5J2, Akagera Road. Be prepared for a park entry fee, which is approximately $30 USD for foreign visitors.

    To reach Akagera National Park from Cyangugu using public transportation, first take a bus or shared taxi from Cyangugu to Butare. The journey takes around 1 hour and costs approximately 1,000 RWF. Once in Butare, you will need to transfer to a bus heading to Nyanza. After reaching Nyanza (which takes about 30 minutes and costs around 500 RWF), look for a bus or shared taxi that goes to Akagera National Park. Ensure you confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at the park entrance. The total journey may take around 3-4 hours, depending on waiting times for connections.
