From Cyangugu, start by heading northeast on the main road towards Butare. After approximately 25 km, you will reach the intersection with the Nyanza road. Take a left turn onto the Nyanza road and continue for about 40 km until you reach the town of Nyanza. In Nyanza, take the road leading to the east towards the Akagera National Park. Follow the signs to Akagera National Park, which is located about 60 km from Nyanza. The park entrance is located at 4PC3+5J2, Akagera Road. Be prepared for a park entry fee, which is approximately $30 USD for foreign visitors.

Public Transportation
To reach Akagera National Park from Cyangugu using public transportation, first take a bus or shared taxi from Cyangugu to Butare. The journey takes around 1 hour and costs approximately 1,000 RWF.
