Getting There

Car

If you are driving from Cyangugu, head east on Avenue de la Revolution, then take a left onto the Nyaruguru road (also known as the Nyungwe National Park road). Continue on this road for about 34 km. Look out for signs directing you to Uwinka Visitor Center, which is located on your left. The center is approximately 1 km past the turnoff for the Nyungwe National Park entrance. Parking is available at the center.
Public Transportation

To reach Uwinka Visitor Center by public transportation, start by taking a moto-taxi (motorcycle taxi) or a bus from Cyangugu to the town of Kitabi, which is the nearest town to the visitor center. The fare for a moto-taxi should be around RWF 1,500 ($1.50), and for a bus, it may cost RWF 700 ($0.70). Once you reach Kitabi, you can hire another moto-taxi to take you to Uwinka Visitor Center, which is approximately 10 km away. The fare for this leg will be around RWF 2,500 ($2.50). Ensure to confirm with the driver that they are familiar with the location.
