Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Gisenyi, head towards the main road, Avenue du Lac. Walk north along Avenue du Lac until you reach the intersection with Avenue des Colons. Turn left onto Avenue des Colons and continue walking straight. You will pass by several local shops and cafes along the way. Keep walking until you reach the roundabout at the end of Avenue des Colons. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenue de la Réunification. Follow this road as it curves left and becomes Avenue de la Paix. Continue walking until you reach the crossroads with KN 3 Ave. The Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial will be on your right, around 500 meters from the crossroads.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start from the center of Gisenyi and head towards Avenue du Lac. Cycle north along Avenue du Lac, taking in the lakeside views. When you reach the intersection with Avenue des Colons, turn left and continue cycling straight. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenue de la Réunification. Follow this road as it curves left and becomes Avenue de la Paix. Keep cycling until you reach the crossroads with KN 3 Ave. The Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial will be on your right, approximately 500 meters beyond the crossroads.

• Motorcycle Taxi (Moto)

  To reach the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial via a motorcycle taxi, find a moto taxi stand in Gisenyi, which are commonly found near popular locations. Ask the driver to take you to the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial. A typical route will involve heading towards Avenue du Lac and then following Avenue des Colons, passing through the roundabout and onto Avenue de la Réunification. The driver will know the best route and will drop you off right in front of the memorial.
