From Gitarama, head north on the RN1 road. Continue for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Ntaruka. Once in Ntaruka, look for signs pointing to Lake Burera; the boat point is located near the lakeshore. Be prepared for some unpaved roads as you approach the lake. The drive should take around 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.

Take a moto-taxi or a bus from Gitarama to Ntaruka. Buses leave frequently from Gitarama's bus station. The fare is around 500 RWF ($0.50). After arriving in Ntaruka, hire a moto-taxi or walk towards the lakeshore to reach Lake Burera Boat Point. The total journey may take about 1.5 to 2 hours, including waiting time for the bus and additional travel to the boat point.
