Getting There
Walking
From the center of Karongi, head towards the main road that runs alongside Lake Kivu. Walk west along the lakeside path, enjoying the views. Continue walking for about 30 minutes until you reach the intersection near the Karongi Market. At the intersection, turn left onto the road leading to the hills. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 kilometers, and you will see signs pointing to Rwiza Village. Continue on this road until you arrive at Rwiza Village.
Bicycle
If you have a bicycle, start from the Karongi town center and cycle towards the lakeside road. Head west along the lakeside path, which is mostly flat and offers great views. After about 30 minutes, take a left at the intersection near the Karongi Market, and start cycling uphill on the road that leads into the hills for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Rwiza Village. The route is mostly safe, but be cautious of any pedestrians and local traffic.
Public Transport (Moto-taxi)
From Karongi town center, find a moto-taxi (motorcycle taxi) stand. Negotiate a ride to Rwiza Village with the driver, who should understand the destination. The trip should take about 15-20 minutes.
