To reach Akagera National Park from Volcanoes National Park by car, start by heading east on the main road from Volcanoes National Park. Follow the signs towards Kigali. This route will take you through beautiful landscapes and local villages. After approximately 2.5 hours (around 100 km), you will reach the outskirts of Kigali. Once you are in Kigali, follow signs for the Nyanza Road (also known as the Kigali-Rwamagana Road). Continue on this road for about 1.5 hours until you reach the junction for Akagera Road. Turn right onto Akagera Road and follow it for another 30-40 minutes until you arrive at the park entrance, located at 4PC3+5J2, Akagera Road. Ensure to check for park fees at the entrance, which can vary depending on your nationality and activities planned. Parking is available inside the park.
Public Transportation

For those traveling by public transport, start by taking a taxi-bus (known as a 'mutatu') from Musanze (the nearest town to Volcanoes National Park) to Kigali.
