If you are traveling by car from Nyabarongo River to Mt. Kigali, start by heading north on the main road towards Kigali. Follow the signs for Kigali and continue on the RN1 highway. After about 30 kilometers, you will reach the outskirts of Kigali. Look for the sign for Mt. Kigali, which is located in the Kibisogi area. Turn onto the road that leads into that neighborhood, and then follow the signs to the Mt. Kigali trailhead. The drive should take approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Ensure you have enough fuel, as there are limited gas stations along the route.

Public Transportation
To reach Mt. Kigali using public transportation, start by taking a moto-taxi or a bus from your location in Nyabarongo River to Kigali. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Nyabugogo bus station, which is a central hub for public transport in the city. From Nyabugogo, you will need to take another moto-taxi or local bus heading towards the Kibisogi area. Make sure to inform the driver that you are heading to Mt. Kigali or look for signs that indicate the direction. The total travel time may vary, but you should expect around 1.5 to 2 hours, including waiting and transfer times. The cost for the initial bus or moto-taxi to Kigali is typically around 1,000 RWF, and the fare to Kibisogi should be about 500 RWF.
