Hajeba Plantation: A Lush Oasis in Nyamata

Getting There

• Walking

  Start in the center of Nyamata at the Nyamata Genocide Memorial. Head southeast on Avenue de la Paix until you reach the main road. Turn left onto the main road, known as RN3, and continue walking straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards Q5W2+PW9. As you walk, you will pass local shops and cafes where you can ask for directions if needed. When you reach the junction near the soccer field, turn right. Continue along this road, and Hajeba Plantation will be on your left side just after a small stream.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start from Nyamata Genocide Memorial and bike southeast along Avenue de la Paix. Merge onto RN3 and continue for about 1.5 kilometers. Ensure to stay alert for traffic as this road can be busy. After the soccer field junction, take a right and bike along the road until you see Hajeba Plantation on your left. This route should take around 10-15 minutes depending on your cycling speed.

• Moto-taxi

  For a quicker option, you can hire a moto-taxi (motorcycle taxi) from anywhere in Nyamata. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Hajeba Plantation located at Q5W2+PW9. They are familiar with local destinations and should be able to take you directly. The ride will take about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. Always negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
