Walking
From the Nyamata town center, head south on Avenue de la Paix towards the intersection with Avenue de l'Indépendance. At the intersection, turn right onto Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance of the Kayumba mountain trail, which is marked by a small sign. The trail begins here, and you will follow it up the mountain.
Bicycle
Starting from the Nyamata market, rent a bicycle and head east on Avenue de la Paix. Continue for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with Avenue de l'Indépendance. Turn left onto Avenue de l'Indépendance and cycle straight for another kilometer. Look for the marked trailhead for Kayumba mountain on your right. Secure your bicycle at the trailhead and begin your hike.
