From the visitor center, follow the signs toward the Canopy Walkway. It is approximately a 30-minute drive from the visitor center to the Canopy Walkway trailhead. Make sure to pay the entrance fee to the park, which is approximately $60 for foreign tourists.

To reach the Canopy Walkway using public transportation, you can take a bus from Kigali to Butare (also known as Huye). The journey takes about 2-3 hours. Once in Butare, you will need to hire a motorcycle taxi (known locally as 'moto') to take you to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The ride will take about 45 minutes. After entering the park, follow the signs to the visitor center and then to the Canopy Walkway trailhead. Ensure to budget for the bus fare (around $5) and the moto taxi fare (approximately $10).
