Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Rubavu, near the main market. Head towards Avenue du Lac, walking along the lakeside. You will enjoy scenic views of Lake Kivu. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers. As you approach Gisenyi, keep an eye out for signs directing you toward Kivu Belt Destination. Once you reach the intersection at Avenue de la Paix, turn left. Continue walking for another 500 meters, and you will see the Kivu Belt Destination on your right, at the address 8733+HX, Gisenyi.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Rubavu. Start your journey from the center of Rubavu and head towards Avenue du Lac, cycling along the lakeshore. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the junction at Avenue de la Paix. Turn left here and continue for approximately 500 meters. Kivu Belt Destination will be on your right side at 8733+HX, Gisenyi. This route is pleasant and gives you a great view of the lake.

  • Motorcycle Taxi (Boda Boda)

    Find a motorcycle taxi (Boda Boda) near the center of Rubavu. Communicate to the driver that you want to go to Kivu Belt Destination, located at 8733+HX, Gisenyi. The ride will take about 10 minutes, passing through several local neighborhoods. Make sure to ask the driver to take the route along Avenue du Lac for a scenic view. They will drop you off directly at the entrance of Kivu Belt Destination.
