    From the center of Rubavu, head towards the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Walk along Avenue du Lac until you reach the roundabout at the lakefront. At the roundabout, take the exit towards the border post (Poste Frontière de Rubavu). Continue straight until you see the border crossing. Cross the border into Goma, DRC, where you will need to show your passport and any necessary visas. Once in Goma, follow Avenue de l'Indépendance straight ahead. After about 1 km, turn right onto Avenue Colonel Mondjiba. Continue for another 500 meters, and you will reach Rond Point Tshukudu, which is a notable landmark in Goma.

  • Public Transport (Motorbike Taxi)

    While in Rubavu, find a motorbike taxi (known locally as 'moto-taxi'). Tell the driver you want to go to the border crossing to Goma. The ride should take about 10 minutes. Upon reaching the border, you will need to clear immigration. After crossing into Goma, ask the motorbike taxi driver to take you to Rond Point Tshukudu. The driver will know this location well, and it should take about 10-15 minutes from the border.
