Public Bus
From Rubavu, head to the main bus station located near the town center. Look for buses heading to Kamembe or Cyangugu. Make sure to ask if the bus stops at Nyungwe Forest National Park or the nearest town, which is Uwinka. The journey will take approximately 2-3 hours. Upon arrival in Uwinka, you may need to hire a local motorcycle taxi (known as an 'moto') to take you to the entrance of the park.

If you are near the main market area in Rubavu, you can easily find motorcycle taxis. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The ride will take about 20 minutes to reach the bus station for long-distance travel. From there, follow the previous guidance for the public bus to get to the park.

If you are staying in a nearby hotel or guesthouse, you can walk to the main bus station in Rubavu. The station is centrally located and should be within walking distance for most accommodations in the town. Look for signs directing you to the bus station or ask locals for directions.
