If you are driving from the main city of Kibuye, take the road heading south towards the Nyungwe National Park. Follow the signs for 18 kilometers until you reach the junction at Bwishyura. Turn left and continue for another 10 kilometers until you reach the shores of Lake Kivu. From there, you can park your car at the lakeshore and look for a local boat operator who can take you to Ile Nyarugwa. Expect to pay around 5,000 to 10,000 Rwandan Francs per person for the boat ride.
