Getting There

Walking
From the center of Mayreau, head towards the beach area. Walk along the shoreline towards the north until you reach the main road. Continue on the main road until you see signs pointing towards the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary. The sanctuary is located near Union Vale, so you will need to follow the road signs until you see the entrance to the sanctuary. It is approximately a 20-30 minute walk from the central area of Mayreau.

Boat
If you prefer a boat ride, you can hire a local boat from the beach in Mayreau. Make sure to negotiate the fare before boarding. Request to be taken to Port Elizabeth, as the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary is located near that area. The boat ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Upon arriving at Port Elizabeth, you can either walk to the sanctuary, which is about a 10-minute walk from the dock, or ask the boat operator to drop you off closer to the sanctuary.
